Building Tomorrow's Leaders Through Sports

·         David consistently says that Kids and Pros is his favorite camp. You guys have consistently done an outstanding job getting coaches and speakers that make a great impact on these kids.

·         Brandon’s experience at the Kids and Pros camp helped him in so many ways. I watched my son go from thinking he was just mediocre and could not accomplish much. (And I’m not just talking about blocking or tackling) I watched him buckle down and strive to do his best in the classroom as well. In 4th grade Brandon was making C’s and D’s in class. He would come home to do his home work and get so frustrated telling himself that he would never be able to understand what he was learning and just shut down. After attending your camp that summer after his 4th grade year he learned that just taking that extra step to get closer to your goal without complaining or making excuses that he could improve. He first realized this in football. He went home after your camp every night and worked on the fundamentals that you professionals taught him. While doing these practice techniques and taking the time to put a little extra effort into it. He saw himself improve. I know it sounds crazy, how you can see yourself improve over a few days at camp. My wife and I can personally confirm to anyone that we watched him change overnight. Due to the camp and a good group of coaches that he had last year in football. He went from being the kid that you find a place to hide in your game plan to being one you could count on. I remember one game in which he caught the game winning touchdown pass to make it into the playoffs. With commitment to fundamentals and that little extra effort of hard work and practice he realized that it pays off in time. We as parents and you all as professional football players rationalized that hard work is not for sports alone but in everything you do. (Especially in school work.) He put it to the test this year in 5th grade. And I am proud to say that Brandon went from making C’s and D’s to making A’s and B’s. He saw his hard work payoff when they printed his name in the paper for making the merits list this year. (And to his Mom and Dad that is more important than any touchdown pass!) He has had some awesome role models and teachers in his life and I am very much honored that you all are a part of that group.

Thank you all so very much,

Mark & Karen Richey - June 8, 2009

·         June 5, 2009 - What a fantastic camp week we had. Thank you for all your work to make it so memorable. Kimberly Jones (Phil's mom)

·        Buddy, Dawn, and the entire Kids & Pros Team, Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to partner with you.  The camp was phenomenal and kids really enjoyed themselves.  Not only did the children learn important football skills, it was evident that by the end of camp, they learned important life skills and discipline. On behalf of the Y, thank you for thinking of us. Our kids are still talking about it and asking can they go back next year.  As my grandfather used to say, "Your satisfaction is our greatest advertisement."  Kudos to Kids & Pros

Kaamel Nuri, Executive Director - Centennial Place Family YMCA

·         "My name is Timi and I am Jordan's mom. I wanted to thank you and your husband and all the others for a great week. My husband died 7 months ago. He was a HUGE football fan and coached Jordan last year. Jordan had to finish the last two games of the season without his dad. I was so concerned that my son would not want to play anymore or lose interest because his dad is no longer here. The coaches and all who ran the football camp helped to show my son that there are many others who love football like his dad. You taught him sportsmanship, honor, respect, skills, and how to play a good fair game. There are many people who sign up for camp and come and go but for us it was so much more…So thank you for all your efforts and hard work because for this family it was more than just football. To see a spark in his eyes and hear him speak with excitement, well, it meant the world to me and I know for his dad. I will continue to sign Jordan up for this camp year after year. You do make a difference and I thank you."

·         "To the awesome staff of Kids and Pros, I would like to give my deepest and most sincere thanks for all of your time and energy this week. Our boys were fortunate enough to attend K&Ps for a second consecutive year, and I can tell you that it has been a tremendous benefit for their overall attitudes... ON AND OFF THE FIELD OF PLAY! I especially like the fact that you have introduced, and put an emphasis on The Character Principles. I believe that The Character Principles are the foundation of success in whatever endeavor they choose to pursue. And lastly, your camp just reinforces the "it takes a village" approach, because it really takes a village. And again, my biggest thanks for what you all have done for The City of Tallahassee this week."

·         "Thanks for a great camp in Tallahassee!  Your organization is clearly a class act and one which one built upon a foundation of excellence!"

·         I was so impressed with how you guys tied into so many positive things…I liked the Chevrolet tent, etc. and the daily recognition in the paper of the kids was a superb touch!!!”

·         It was a great week for everyone….I heard only positive comments and saw only smiling kids….Mission Accomplished!” Thanks again!!!"

·         "My son, Bennett loved his week with you. What an outstanding camp for young boys. We will be back. “

·         "What a fabulous week of camp. Thank you so much for giving your time to make such an impact on young lives. Every aspect of the camp was well run and organized. The younger coaches were amazing with the children. We will be back. “

·         "Thanks for everything. Our son Sean attended the camp in Roswell and had a blast. I can say that the kids I carpooled each day all had fun. We attended the party at Jillian's after the camp ended and through it all you Buddy, Bobby and everyone did a first class job. Our son lives and breathes sports and this camp provided a way to be involved, have fun, learn from people that have been there and be inspired. Hope to attend next year. Keep up the good work and thanks again.”

·         "I just wanted to tell you thank you so very much for allowing my son to attend camp this week.  As I said before he never wanted to play football until we went to the Family Fun Fest Sunday.  I have watched him this week getting better and better at the warm-up exercises and the drills.  I really thought he would have a hard time with it.  Today I am signing him up for the city football program.  This is what the camp has done. Now he likes it so much he wants to play.  The coaches have been really great with these kids. The way they talk to them and work with them is just wonderful.  I like the little speeches at the end each night, lessons not only for the kids but the parents too.  Last night Buddy ask me to help with the coolers, seemed they were short handed and I did, later he ask me which one was mine and I showed him. He then said some very nice things about my son.  I in turn relayed those words to my child and they made him feel good.  This program is really a great thing your husband and the others do for our youth.  Tyler is already making plans of playing football for GW, and then he says he's going to VA Tech and then the NFL.  Funny, just a week ago he would have gotten big eyes, tilted his head and said "I'm not playing football".  We were cut short last night due to the storm; I hope they make it through tonight.  Well I just wanted to thank you again and a big thanks to all the coaches and staff of your program.  Hopefully we will attend next year if you offer the program and he's still enjoying the game."

·         “I just wanted to thank you guys for coming to Danville. This camp is much better than other camps I have sent my son to. The principles you teach are the same that my wife and I try to teach our son and daughter. Sometimes you think it’s going in one ear and out the other, but then they do something that makes you think, hey they are listening. I had a great time playing in the Pros and Joes Football game. How an offensive center gets the MVP has throne me for a loop. Maybe you felt sorry for me. Ha! It was an added bonus to help with the camp. I love the sport of football and picking up on little things from Jeremy Phillips will help out this season, as well as the dynamic exercises from Brian. I hope you guys come back next year. Let me know and I’ll help any way I can. I will definitely recommend the camp to all of my players! Are you going to post the pictures from the camp and the Pros and Joes game on your web-site?"

See you next year,

Charles Fulcher, Tunstall Titans “B” Team Head Coach

·         "My sons (Will and Micah) both attended your camp June 23-27. They really enjoyed themselves and learned a lot in the process. The fundamentals that were drilled on a daily basis are so important. Will has attended a football camps the past three years but this by far was the best. No comparison. They are both excited about coming back next year. Thanks for your great team of coaches and all the people and hard work that went into making the week such a success. “

·         "We just wanted to thank you and all of your helpers for a wonderful camp! You did an amazing job and the kids had the best time. This was my son's first football camp - age 9 and he loved all of it. He especially enjoyed his coach, Clay Cox who should be praised for the way he handled these kids. Being a young man himself he sure did have a way with children. They learned a lot about teamwork and game skills as well as respect and also really had fun together!! Their team won the Super bowl for their league not just because they had talented kids, but because they had a good leader that they liked and respected. Thanks for a great experience. We look forward to seeing you again."

·         "I wanted to take this opportunity on behalf of Alpharetta Youth Football Association (AYFA) and personally to thank you Buddy, Bobby and all of the coaches who made last week's football such a memorable experience. To say that this, our first camp was a success would be a tremendous understatement. We believe this is something that can be successful for years to come and will pay great dividends as we attempt to steer youth in a positive direction. From a personal standpoint, I was extremely impressed by the quality of leadership provided by the coaches both from a football as well as a life perspective. It was most obvious that these men both young and old believe in the football/life principals taught to the kids each day. As a participant of several local football camps over the last 6 years with my son David, I was most impressed by the quality of instruction as well as the organization of every facet of this event. David would not stop talking each night about what he learned and the fun he had. In fact on Wednesday evening he informed me that he wished to continue attending the camp as a student as long as possible and then become an instructor. You obviously made a great impact on this young man and for this Patricia and I are forever grateful. We look forward to beginning the planning process for next year's camp. We are committed to making this camp the best one of all of those you have each year. Thanks again for all you do for young people."

Jeff Andrews, President - Alpharetta Youth Football Assn.

·         "Just wanted to let you know my son, Cole, had a fabulous week.  Thanks for all your hard work.  He’s looking forward to next year."

"Pros & Joes Participant"

·         "Now that I have come back down to earth and have made the necessary phone calls to family, and co-workers and such I just wanted to really thank you. As I was talking to my mom it sank in how much this means to me. I mean I remember idolizing Charlie Ward for both his faith and his athletic ability, watching Kez Mccorvey and what a wonderful receiver he was and as I got older and followed recruiting watching Nick come out of North Carolina to come down to FSU. Even more so this is the bond that my Dad and I shared between father and son and he passed away about 4 years ago and what better way to put a cap on Father’s day than to have that moment of reality that I will be on the same field as many Seminole greats that we both sat there and watched together or ones that he would share stories about from before I was even born. So thank you, you have no idea what this really means to me, I could go into greater detail but I will spare you, just know this is a total honor and privilege and no doubt will much be appreciated for years and years to come."
